Impact on 1930's
Hitler had a large impact on the world in the 1930's. Not only was he a powerful leader but also started the Nazi party who were responsible for the largest genocide in history. The Nazi's killed over 6 million Jews while holding them in concentration camps and under very harsh conditions with little food. Although he was a terrible man, his leadership in WWI made people see him as a strong leader. He wanted Germany to be the strongest country and power in the world. For a while he accomplished this goal until his reign came to an end when he commited suicide in 1945.
Unionization
As a female factory worker, working conditions were very tough. The air is very polluted in the factories, and the machinery we work with is dangerous and causes injuries to some of the workers. Althought unionization did give many jobs to both males and us females, the working conditions are tough and men are still given the highest paying jobs.

The Reformation- John Calvin
John Calvin was a big part of the Reformation. He had new ideas that were the opposite of Martin Luther's, and developed a lot of followers in the process. Calvin had strong predestination beliefs and thought that man could only approach God in faith through Christ and not just by attending church or through pilgrimages. He also believed that the New Testament and baptism were created to help Man find guidance when seeking God and faith. Calvin's ideas appealed to many people resulting in many followers. He was a large part of the Reformation and his ideas resulted in the new religion of Calvinism.
Thirty Years' War
The Thirty Years' War was caused by political and religious problems, much like any other conflicts during this time. There were strong tensions between Catholic and Protestant states that caused initial conflict, however a revolt against Habsburg rule in 1618 started the actual warefare. This caused a widespread war across Europe involving more countries such as Spain and the Netherlands who previously had a truce between them, which expired in 1621. After the war was over, it had caused much economic devestation and also a very large population decline. A series of treaties called the Peace of Westphalia in 1648 eventually ended the fighting in the empire for good.

Christopher Columbus
Although believed by many to be a hero and the greatest explorer of all time, in my opinion, Christopher Columbus is a villian. While believing he had landed in India, Columbus landed in the Caribbean Islands near what is now the Bahamas. There he treated the islands inhabitants with little to no respect, by enslaving and even killing some of them. Columbus was greedy with his findings and lied about how much he had actually found. His exploration was nothing but one of greed and selfishness in that he wanted nothing but glory for himself. There is a large misconception today that he discovered the world was round, and that he discovered America. Neither of those of course are true. Aside from finding treasure on an already inhabited island, and opening a few doors for explorers after him, in my opinion Christopher Columbus was a selfish, greedy man and deserves the title of villain.
